We are delighted to announce that our Year 13 students have performed exceptionally well in 2016. With a pass rate of 100%, at A level and in Vocational subjects, 95% of students achieved at least two A levels and more than half of all A level exams sat were awarded A*-B grades with an average overall grade of B. This is the result of seven years of hard work and dedication by students, ably supported by their teachers and parents.
Congratulations to all of our students who performed so well to gain places at the leading Universities, employment and Apprenticeships in a wide range of courses.
Notable success was Eva Malpass who achieved 3 A* grades in Art, Photography and English Literature. Well done to Jack Barnes, Thomas Bourne, Martin Burstow, Abigail Clarke, Andrew Coatsworth, George Craven, Holly Davey, Amy Dowd, Louise Goswell, Anna Harrison, Helena Sampayo, Ethan Wheeler and Clare Woodward, who each achieved 3 or more grades AAB or better.
High grades were achieved across the academic, creative and vocational subjects showing exceptional diversity amongst the students.
Principal, Brendan Wall, commented: ‘These results are exceptional for a Comprehensive School at A level in a selective system. The students have worked very hard, some through difficult personal circumstances, to achieve and gain their places at the next stage of their education, training and employment. Thanks to their parents and teachers supporting them, allied with their hard work, success has been achieved by all students. We wish them well for the future.’
