Timings Of The Day

Since March 2020 our timings have had to be flexible to manage our COVID-19 arrangements. As a result, we have regularly reviewed and updated our timings to accommodate the changing national situation.

At the end of the 2020-21 academic year we again reviewed the timings for the new 2021-22 academic year, with a view to more permanent timings from September 2021. We published the 2021-22 timings to parents and carers in our Term 6 newsletter in July 2021.

From September 2021 the timings of the school day will be as follows:

Arrival (8.25 am - 8.35 am):

We will open the school gates at 08.25 am, which will allow a ten-minute window for all students to go to their tutor period bases for a prompt 8.35 am start. Students must be in their tutor period bases by 8.35 am for start-of-day registration.

Timings of Lessons and Breaks (8.35 am - 3.00 pm):

  • Tutor Time      8.35 am to 9.00 am
  • Period 1 :          9.00 am to 10.00 am
  • Period 2           10.00 am to 11.00 am
  • Break                11.00 am to 11.20 am
  • Period 3            11.20 am to 12.20 pm
  • Period 4            12.20 pm to 1.20 pm
  • Lunch                1.20 pm to 2.00 pm
  • Period 5             2.00 pm to 3.00 pm

Departure (3.00 pm to 3.10 pm):

  • 3.00 pm          Years 10 to 13 dismissed from class
  • 3.05 pm           Years 07 to 09 dismissed from class

Other

  • In September 2021 we will review the viability of organising an additional paid voluntary supervision team from 8.00 am to 8.25 am, so that we can open the gates earlier for students who necessarily need to arrive early. This will also relieve congestion at the front of the school. Further information will follow in September.
  • Departure at the end of the day is staggered, with Years 07-09 dismissed from Period 5 five minutes later than Years 10-13. This helps relieve congestion at the front of the school. The additional five minutes for Years 07-09 in Period 5 will be used for reading and all students should have a reading book with them.
