Teacher of Design & Technology
The school are looking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated teacher of Design & Technology. The Design & Technology department is small but growing department within a high performing school in Maidstone. At GCSE we deliver AQA Design & Technology and across Key Stage 3 the students are taught in D&T for half of the year and then Food Preparation and Nutrition for half of a year. Both subjects are popular at GCSE. Design & Technology is taught from a multi-disciplinary aspect within the department to support the new GCSE specifications. Any subject specialism within Design & Technology will be considered but candidates will need to demonstrate they have the skills and knowledge to deliver across disciplines. Please state in your application what specialisms you can confidently teach in KS3 and KS4. The ability to also offer Food Preparation and Nutrition could be beneficial but is not essential.
Our students are a credit to the values of our school, and all visitors to our school comment positively on the excellent standards of behaviour, courtesy and good nature of the students they encounter whilst spending time here at St Simon Stock Catholic School.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be able to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential, and instil a love of learning, both through practical and theory work.
- Be part of a team and will contribute to the ongoing development of this successful Design & Technology department.
- Be comfortable promoting Catholic values and ethos, but does not necessarily have to be Catholic.
