Year 12-13 Dress Code

At St Simon Stock Catholic School, Sixth Form students are role models for the community and are expected to uphold high standards of dress. Formal business dress is the model for all, male and female, with the following guidelines:

Male and Female:
  • All students must wear suits/suit style jackets.
  • No denim is permitted.
Male: Female:
  • Male students must wear formal suit trousers.
  • Male students must wear a shirt and tie (tucked in and top button done up).
  • For female students, skirts are to be of an appropriate length.
  • Shoulders must be covered.
  • Leggings, shorts, informal type trousers, thin shoulder straps, clinging materials and vest tops are not allowed as they are not in the remit of business dress.
  • Tops with large logos or slogans are not allowed.

Make-Up: Hair: Footwear: PE:
  • Discreet make-up can be worn.
  • We also do not allow facial piercings or visible tattoos.
  • Hair styles should be appropriate for a professional, working environment.
  • Footwear should be sensible for a working environment.
  • Students can wear their own clothes but they must be appropriate for physical activity.

If we feel that a student is inappropriately dressed we will require the student to return home and change her/his clothes before returning to school. Students should not underestimate the part that appearance plays in both their personal and professional development and they will be demonstrating their commitment to the school by following this dress code. The ultimate decision of what is or is not acceptable with regards to uniform lies with the Principal and he delegates this authority to members of the Senior Leadership Team in the School and the Head of Sixth Form.
