A Glorious Season Finale for Our Football Teams

What a way to wrap up the season! Yesterday, Tuesday 20 May, both our Year 8 football teams took centre stage at Maidstone United FC, delivering performances full of passion, talent and determination in their District Finals.

Our Year 8 boys’ team were simply outstanding, winning their final match 5-2 to claim the District Championship and complete an undefeated season. With seven wins from seven, they topped their group with five straight victories, powered through a 4-2 semi-final triumph, and finished with a dominant performance in the final. Every goal was a showcase of their skill and teamwork, and every player played their part in an unforgettable campaign.

The girls’ team also enjoyed a fantastic run in their local tournament. Competing in a mini-league format, they progressed confidently to the semi-final, then battled their way to the final, where they delivered a gritty and determined 0-0 draw before narrowly missing out on penalties (0-1). A special shoutout to the three Year 7 girls who stepped up to strengthen the squad — a brilliant example of courage and commitment. The whole team showed remarkable spirit and composure under pressure.

Both teams were a joy to watch — demonstrating not only talent, but also exceptional professionalism, teamwork, and conduct throughout. They embodied the very best of our school values on and off the pitch.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support — we definitely brought the Stocky spirit with us and were by far the best-represented school in the stadium. We truly Stockyfied  the stands, and the atmosphere was fantastic!

And finally, a massive thank you to our amazing players and dedicated PE staff, whose coaching, encouragement and support have been behind every step of this journey. You’ve made this season one to remember — and set the bar high for the future.
