Labour Market Presentations for Year 8 & 10

On Thursday 27 March, ‘The Education People’ led a presentation on Labour Market Information to all Year 8 and 10 students. In today’s ever changing professional environment staying up to date with the latest trends and data is crucial and the purpose of this session was to assist students in making informed decisions about future career choices.

The presentation covered 3 key areas which would impact careers in the future such employment trends, skills gaps and future careers. Students were informed about some unusual careers and completed a salary comparison. The session ended with information on the largest occupations in the Maidstone area, the fastest growing career opportunities and of course the best paid sectors.

The whole purpose of this session was to provide vital information for our students before they start to select a career in the rapidly changing world of work. It is hoped that this provided them with food for thought when making choices about their future.
