Mental Health in Schools Team
Introducing the Emotional Wellbeing Team at St Simon Stock Catholic School
At St Simon Stock Catholic School, we are dedicated to fostering a supportive environment where our students can thrive both academically and emotionally. As part of this commitment, we are excited to announce our collaboration with the Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs), known locally in Kent as the Emotional Wellbeing Team. This program is funded by the NHS and co-delivered by the Department for Education and Health Education England, reflecting its national importance.
About the Emotional Wellbeing Team
In response to feedback from young people in Kent, the Mental Health in Schools Team has been re-named Emotional Wellbeing Team to better reflect the positive focus of their work. The team are here to enhance our whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing, providing targeted support to students experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges, such as anxiety or low mood. Their services will complement our existing counselling provision, Place2Be, which already offers full-time support within our school community.
Future Plans
We are currently in the planning stages of this partnership and are excited about the opportunities it will bring. Over the coming weeks and months, we will share more details about the initiatives and resources available to our students and their families.
Parent Workshops
To support families, the Emotional Wellbeing Team has organised several workshops for Terms 5 and 6. These sessions are designed to provide practical advice and insights into supporting your child’s emotional wellbeing. We encourage parents and carers to take advantage of these valuable resources.
