Year 10 Workplace Experience 2024

At the beginning of July we had the opportunity to take two groups of Year 10 students out into the community to experience the workplace in two very different industries.

Seven students visited the offices of Whitehead Monckton where they learned all about the different routes into the legal sector. They were able to speak to people working in a variety of roles across the workplace. They gained an understanding of how different roles intersect and support one another. Students also had the opportunity to complete a hostage negotiation task which required them to consider a variety of factors that go into decisions in situations such as these.

Fourteen students visited the offices of Scania, Maidstone. They met with the Branch Manager and Sustainability Officer and were able to view the workshop. Students were told about the routes into training and work that Scania offer, as well as all the opportunities available for employees of Scania. Students were able to sit in one of their tractor units and experience the unique view point that an HVG driver has of their world of work.
