Catering

Catering at St Simon Stock is run by Chartwells who are part of the nationwide Compass Group, providing catering to a large number of primary and secondary schools across the country.

Here’s a message from Chartwells about their food and ethos.

As the leading provider of catering services to schools across the UK we believe school lunches should be freshly prepared, great-tasting and attractively presented to engage students.

Our menus are fully nutritionally checked by our expert in-house team and meet the Governments school food standards.

Our food offer combines dining concepts that are vibrant and diverse in terms of our menu offer. Our Global Adventures food offer includes dishes from all over the world, including America, the Caribbean, Japan, Mexico and China. We also understand that it is important to maintain traditional British dishes on the menus such as fish and chips or a roast dinner.

To complement our Global Adventures menu, we also offer a large range of hot and cold sandwiches, salads and grab and go items focussed on providing the pupils with access to healthy, nutritious meals that they can eat quickly and on the go.

Seasonal and nutritionally balanced healthy menus will change twice a year offering variety along with new dishes to stimulate inquisitive minds. We also understand our responsibility of the importance of educating young people on good nutrition and healthy lifestyles via our education programmes.

We’re proud of our support for local and British suppliers – sourcing the best possible quality ingredients and produce from well respected, stringently selected and continually audited farmers and growers.

We’ve always taken the issue of food allergies extremely seriously. If any student has an allergy, an intolerance or a medical condition that calls for a special diet our in-house expert team of nutritionists make sure students are fully and safely catered for with special menus, procedures and local training. Please contact your school kitchen for more information.

Please look out for our introduction to school meals booklet that will be distributed via your school and see below for our three week cycle menu.

Special dietary needs

Chartwells have asked schools to get in touch with all parents to request information about any children with special dietary needs. Parents whose children have special dietary needs should complete the attached Request Form and return it direct, as soon as possible, to Chartwells via email: KCSP.admin@chartwells.co.uk.

Cashless Catering

Our cashless catering system links with ParentPay so that you are able to see what your child purchases and how much money they have left on their cards.

Please remember to top up your child’s catering card as cash is no longer accepted in school.

Queries relating to lunch card refunds or lost and stolen cards should go to the kitchen manager at kitchen@ssscs.co.uk
