Appeals Procedure

 

Parents whose applications for places are unsuccessful may appeal to an independent Appeal panel, set up in accordance with Sections 88 and 94 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.

 

If you wish to lodge an appeal, please complete the Secondary School Appeal Form:

You should return the form to the school for the attention of the Admissions Officer.  You should include any evidence or supporting material with your appeal form and you MUST give the grounds for your appeal at the time you lodge your appeal.    

You may appeal for more than one school.

Appeals for Year 7 September 2022

 

If your child is due to start secondary school in September 2022, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Tuesday 1 March 2022).

You must submit your appeal before Monday 28 March 2022 for it to be considered by Thursday 16 June 2022. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

 

For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

 

Appeals for St Simon Stock that have been lodged before 28 March 2022 will be heard on Wednesday 15 June 2022
