Year 12-13 Dress Code

At St Simon Stock Catholic School, Sixth Form students are role models for the younger students and are expected to set an example to the rest of the school through their smart business-like dress. The intention of the Sixth Form dress code is to dress as if they were working in a smart office environment, with the following guidelines:

  • Shirt, blouse, or smart top are recommended
  • Skirt or dress – should be of an appropriate length
  • Tailored trousers or chinos – no leggings or tracksuit trousers
  • The wearing of blazers and ties is optional – blazers will be required for formal occasions and events or when students represent the school
  • No vest tops, strapless sleeves or cut off tops
  • Shoes or boots suitable for the office working environment
  • Jumper or cardigan
  • Clothing with large logos or slogans are not permitted
  • No denim
  • No flip-flops
  • Discreet make-up is permitted
  • Hair styles should be appropriate for a professional, working environment
  • Nails may be painted
  • Jewellery is permitted

Students can wear their own clothes but they must be appropriate for physical activity.

If we feel that a student is inappropriately dressed, we will require the student to return home and change their clothes before returning to school. Students should not underestimate the part that appearance plays in both their personal and professional development and they will be demonstrating their commitment to the school by following this dress code.

The ultimate decision of what is or is not acceptable with regards to uniform lies with the Headteacher and they delegate this authority to members of the Senior Leadership Team in the School.

Our Values

Prayer & Faith

We must ‘Go and do likewise’, to serve the needs of others.

We are ‘One Body in Christ’, inclusive and welcoming to all.

We are called to ‘be constant in prayer’ to discern God’s love. Students are invited to faith, participating in regular acts of workshop as forms, classes, year groups, and a school.

Students are expected to be hopeful, showing respect to themselves, their peers, teachers and the environment.

Students are expected to be charitable through acts of service in school and the wider community.

Students are expected to maintain a scholarly attitude in all lessons and work to the best of their ability and engage where they can in extra-curricular activities.
