On the 26^th June a group of year 10 students travelled to London on a visit designed to encourage them to have high aspirations for their future. The first part of the day was spent at Queen Mary’s university in Mile End, a Russell Group university. Students had the opportunity to visit the Library and lecture rooms within the faculty of Law. In addition to the academic side students also had opportunities to see the halls of residence and the student Union.

In the afternoon the students attended a conference on ‘Getting into top universities’. Here they listened to advice on applications and the requirements necessary to acquire a place at a top university. As part of this conference the students heard presentations from both Kings College London and the University of Oxford.

Both students and staff had an enjoyable visit and it was encouraging to learn the interesting plans year 10 students have for their future.
