Helping Your Child Overcome Maths Anxiety & Build Mathematical Resilience
Last week, the Maths department shared information with parents about a webinar called “Helping Your Child Overcome Maths Anxiety & Build Mathematical Resilience”, which was run by Eedi. The webinar went through:
1. What maths anxiety is
2. How to spot the signs
3. Practical strategies to help your child cope
4. Actionable tips on helping them build mathematical resilience
A number of parents got in touch to express their interest, but also their disappointment if they were unable to attend, but thankfully the webinar was recorded and can be found here! Those who did attend have reported how useful they found the content covered. Parents mentioned that it was interesting to have a better understanding of where maths anxiety comes from, and also to see the impact that time pressure can have on a student to process information and act upon it – something that can be said for any subject in the school.
If we hear about anything like this in the future, we will be sure to share it with parents.
