Open Events

A warm welcome to prospective parents and carers who are considering applying for a place for your child in September 2022. Following the national removal of lockdown restrictions, we are delighted that we can return to opening our school site to visitors for our Open Sessions in 2021, details of which are below.

Open Evening Thursday 7th October 4.30 pm to 7 pm

We need to manage our Open Evening as safely as possible, with staggered ‘arrival windows’. This will help ensure a smooth flow as visitors move around the school on their tours, avoiding bottlenecks.

We are therefore introducing a ticket system for our 2021 Open Evening, in which we are asking prospective visitors to register in advance their approximate arrival ‘window’ using the links below. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

Please note that each arrival window is linked to one of three repeated presentations by the Academy Principal, Mr Malone. On arrival you will be offered a school tour, after which you can then move to the main hall, if you wish to listen to Mr Malone’s presentation.

  • Arrival Window One: If you wish to attend Mr Malone’s talk at 5.15 pm, please aim to arrive at the school between approximately 4.10 pm and 4.30 pm. Click here to register for this arrival window.

  • Arrival Window Two: If you wish to attend Mr Malone’s talk at 6 pm, please aim to arrive at the school between approximately 4.50 pm and 5.10 pm. Click here to register for this arrival window.

  • Arrival Window Three: If you wish to attend Mr Malone’s talk at 6.45 pm, please aim to arrive at the school between 4.50 pm and 5.10 pm. Click here to register for this arrival window.

Visitors are of course welcome to attend any or none of the presentations, but we do ask you to register in advance your arrival window, which will help us plan the event safely. Please note that the site is open to all visitors until 7 pm.

Open Mornings Tuesday 12th October and Thursday 14th October 9 am to 10.30 am

Please aim to arrive at any time between 9 am and 10.30 am. On arrival you will be given a tour of the school. Please note that there is no presentation by the Academy Principal on the Open Mornings.

After the Welcome Speech each subject will host a 15 minute session which will be repeated 4 times throughout the evening as shown in the schedule below. Simply select the courses you are interested in (maximum 4 courses) and decide the timeslot for each. The school tannoy will announce the end of each session and will allow a 5 minute interval for travelling to your next session.  If you are unfamiliar with the layout of the school please let the teacher know so that we can assign a chaperone to escort you to your next talk.

Parking

Regrettably, due to the nature of the site, we are not able to offer on-site parking for any of our Open Sessions. There will be some parking on the road in front of the school that runs through the Oakwood campus but this is likely to be limited. We therefore ask visitors to plan ahead, arrive early and park on the local roads on the edge of the campus, which is a short walking distance to the school.

Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to welcoming you to our school in October.
