Poetry Competition
During the school closure, the House Leaders ran a Poetry Competition. The competition was over two rounds. In the First Round the students had a choice of genres that they could write a poem about in any style they chose. The genres were – “Daily Life, What I see, Window to the World, Who do I say, I see me, Masks, Everyday life and Empty school”. There was an abundance of excellent entries which made it a very difficult task deciding on the finalists. In the end there were three finalists for each Key Stage. In the second round I decided to make the genre “Unlocked”, as we were able to be together in school again and see our friends. Deciding a winner for each Key Stage took me a while as the standard of the poems was incredible. The creativity that the students showed is to be commended. In the end Sara R (Year 7) and Joseph P (Year 11) were the winners and were presented with their prizes of an Kindle device by Mrs Hobbs. Congratulations to all of the students who took time to enter the competition, it has been an eye-opener appreciating the many talented students we have here at Stocky.
