PUPILS AND STAFF PUT TO THE TEST IN SPELLING COMPETITION
Our Year 7 and 8’s took part in a very exciting and close Spelling Bee competition last week. Students from all houses competed in front of their peers to spell some extremely difficult to words. Staff even decided to take on the gauntlet of becoming the first St Simon Stock Spelling Bee Champion. Well done to all our pupils, who were really supportive of all of their peers, encouraging them every step of the way, generating an intensely competitive climate as the week went on. At the end of the week the final showdown witnessed Philip Hart snatching the lead from Simon David, closely followed by James Stapley.
All three boys would put a lot of staff to shame with their spelling prowess.
Well done to our three brave staff member who put their reputations on the line – Mrs Rodell Jones, Mr Fiddler and Mr Wall. Mr Wall showed us how it is done sailing through to be the Staff Winner of the Spelling Bee. Mr Fiddler and Mrs Rodell Jones kept their reputations in place with a sterling performance.
