Sixth Form Catenian Public Speaking Competition 2019
Congratulations to Angelica Tuazon and Clairon Opulencia who both took part in the Sixth Form Catenian Public Speaking Competition 2019 at the Bishop Thomas Grant School, in Streatham, London on Wednesday 10th October 2018. Even though the standard of competition was extremely high, Clairon and Angelica were outstanding ambassadors for our school and deserve high recognition for their speeches. Angelica gave a speech on the Socratic Paradox and Clairon on the works of Nietzsche, specifically the idea that you should live your life as if you had to live it again, which is a philosophy many of us can relate to. .
They spoke in front of ten of their peers from a variety of Catholic schools from the Southwark Diocese. Both students gave the audience pause for thought and received a lot of praised by the judges for their knowledge of the subjects and public-speaking skills. They represented some of the many talents we have in our school and should be proud of their efforts
