The New Prefect Teams

After an intense few weeks of interviews and group tasks the teachers selected over 40 students to represent the prefect team at St Simon Stock.

The overall team consists of four groups that deal with different aspects of school life. We have the Academic support team that develops links with KS3 and KS4 students to set up academic mentoring support. We also have the communications team that works to develop student voice for the sixth form and other key years such as year 11. In addition we have our mentoring team to help organise whole school induction events for transition year groups eg 6-7, 11-12 and 12 into sixth-form. Finally, we have the events team to lead on promoting existing fund-raising events such as founders day and developing new ideas.

Each team is lead by either the head girl/boy or deputy head/boy with a team full of 12 students to guide and help. Each team is dedicated to their subject of work and is keen to make an influence. They hope to make a lasting influence and improve our already brilliant school community. As an example, the events team have been proactive after joining the prefects by raising funds for the sixth form department (over £80) with fundraising activities still ongoing.

The whole prefect team are happy to help with any other years as well as the outside community throughout the rest of their time at St Simon Stock.”

Students are expected to be hopeful, showing respect to themselves, their peers, teachers and the environment.

Students are expected to be charitable through acts of service in school and the wider community.

Students are expected to maintain a scholarly attitude in all lessons and work to the best of their ability and engage where they can in extra-curricular activities.
