Last term, our students got on board with the campaign run by mental health charity ‘Young Minds’, which drew attention to the mental health issues being suffered by young people. The week of the campaign corresponded with World Mental Health Awareness Day and World Homelessness Day. Money raised by the students from donations will be shared with both local homeless charity ‘POrchlight’ and the ‘Young Minds’ organisation.

As well as that week’s citizenship activities across the whole school focusing on discussions of this worthy subject, students also got the chance to raise awareness for the campaign by wearing an item of yellow clothing along with their school uniform. It was wonderful to see so many students getting involved and the bright flashes of yellow around the school that day were a reminder of the importance of addressing the mental health of our community.

We raised a fantastic £252.26!!
