Futures First!
Fri 24 Jan 2020Last week, year 13 had the opportunity to hear from special guest speakers who had been invited in via one of our linked careers organisation, FutureFirst.
The visiting alumni were Tabitha Beasley (pictured here with Mr Williams), class of 2001, who now runs her own marketing company, ‘Marketing Assistant’. We also heard from our former head boy, David Constable- class of 2003- who is now a freelance journalist who works all over the world and Alex Kell, class of 2010, now a successful Business Analyst.
Year 13 were interested to hear the different perspectives from people who had once sat in the same place as them and heard stories about career journeys, unexpected curveballs thrown by life, Jamie Oliver and the ‘real’ reason Tabitha took A level Geography!
We look forward to establishing further links with Tabitha, David and Alex, as well as upcoming talks from more former students who will come to us as their Alma Mater and enlighten us with their life-journeys ‘post-Stocky’!

Most Improved Judo Player of the Year 2019
Thu 23 Jan 2020Congratulations to Annabel Lydon who received the award and on merit for “Most Improved Judo Player of the Year 2019” from The Judo Academy.
Her Judo Coaching team contacted us with these lovely words:
“Given that Annabel was already of quite a high standard of Judo before she came to train with us at The Judo Academy, The Judo Academy Coaching Team and Board members nevertheless were unanimous in their verdict of awarding Annabel the award of ‘Most Improved Judo Player of Year 2019’ as Annabel has been demonstrating consistently a marked improvement in her Judo fitness, Judo techniques and Judo skills whilst training with us at The Judo Academy. Moreover, Annabel has shown patience, good teaching ability to others and kind encouragement and respect to all those she has come into contact with at The Judo Academy.
The Judo Coaching Team and Board are very proud of Annabel and her contributions, approach and help to others hence this well-deserved Award which we felt you would appreciate being informed of.”
Well done Annabel what a fantastic achievement!
