Getting Into The Top Universities – Visit
Tue 09 Jul 2019On the 26th June a group of year 10 students travelled to London on a visit designed to encourage them to have high aspirations for their future. The first part of the day was spent at Queen Mary’s university in Mile End, a Russell Group university. Students had the opportunity to visit the Library and lecture rooms within the faculty of Law. In addition to the academic side students also had opportunities to see the halls of residence and the student Union.
In the afternoon the students attended a conference on ‘Getting into top universities’. Here they listened to advice on applications and the requirements necessary to acquire a place at a top university. As part of this conference the students heard presentations from both Kings College London and the University of Oxford.
Both students and staff had an enjoyable visit and it was encouraging to learn the interesting plans year 10 students have for their future.

Year 7 Parent’s Evening – Thank You
Tue 02 Jul 2019Thank you to all of our Year 7 Parents who attended their first Parent’s Evening! We received lots of positive feedback and we thank you so much for your kind words about our fabolous organisation on the night. We were especially pleased by the number of comments from parents who had been to similar events in other local schools and reported ours to be the “best organised, running very smoothly with no delays”.
Thank you again :)

Year 11 Prom
Tue 02 Jul 2019Our Year 11 students enjoyed a fabulous event at Oakwood House Hotel to celebrate their successful completion of their GCSE exams. Mr Chittenden, Assistant Headteacher, praised the students for their dedication, diligence and most importantly for living out our “Work with Love” motto in the fantastic conduct throughout the exam season. There are always too many people to thank on these occasions, but particular kudos should be offered to Mr Barber and Mrs Pilcher for their excellent organisation of the exams, and Miss Karaoglani for her support with the organisation of the Prom. We launched this event 3 years ago and it has now become an ingrained and successful part of our Year 11 programme. Sadly, due to the closure of Oakwood House Hotel we are currently seeking an alternative venue for 2020 on the assumption that our current Year 10 students are keen to celebrate completing their GCSEs in less than 12 months’ time. -
